The Makeup Drawer

You went to MAC, Ulta, and Sephora, didn’t you???

That’s how it usually starts. You saw your girlfriend’s makeup and you gagged over how stunning she looked. She dropped a few makeup names and you took your happy hips to the makeup counter the next day. So you came home with all of this makeup and you are ready to divide and conquer. (Feel seen, yet??) Like most of us, we give it a good go for about two weeks until we concede to defeat. All it takes is one good time to be in a rush or try to figure out why your foundation turned 2 shades too dark before you throw your makeup in the drawer for good. Before you know it, all of that

Sis, It’s way too much!!!

Yes, I know!!!!!! (LOL!!) It is! It’s the colbalt blue mascara and the bronzer that’s possible too light. Or maybe it’s the five packs of lashes that you do not know how to apply (They can be real b******, mmkay??). You have a drawer full of things, new and expired, just sitting there staring back at you. It’s a lot when you sit back and think about it. I feel you; its over whelming! I am going to be your special voice, your makeup artist in your brain, that will give you the tools and knowledge needed to use those products. Hmmm, I could be your personal Beauty Tour Guide!!

So what do I do?

As of now??? NOTHING! Leave it there! We are going to tackle all of this one thing at a time. I’m going to walk you through every piece of makeup you have. Everything from the plum eyeshadow to the concealer that was too dark for you; we are going to use it all in due time. I’m going to even show you what to do with the makeup that has been sitting in your drawer for YEARS! There is a reason as to why you are holding onto it and I am going to walk you through that as well. For right now, leave it. (There is a method to my madness. Ok. Trust me on this.)

One blog at a time…

The purpose of me writing this blog was to take the fear out of makeup. The colors scare us, the different textures, the smells, the shimmers. Unless you have a Beauty Professional coming to your house to school you on what to use daily, the makeup will just sit and expire. To be honest, the longer it sits, the more daunting and scary the tasks becomes. So here is where I come in. I am going to hold your hand blog by blog. Every time we meet, I will take that fear and turn it into something beautiful. I will supply you with tips and tricks on the products you may carry and also connect with you all to address questions you may have on how to use a beauty product. This is a sure way to resurrect the things in your makeup drawer. It’s going to take a while for us to tackle every makeup topic, but we will get there. Do you trust me??? I sure hope so!
