Melissa Daughtry is a freelance makeup artist based in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia. At 38, she never in her wildest dreams would have thought that she would be a business owner and do something that was more than just a job. Since her start almost five years ago, Melissa has since become owner of Kabod Artistry. She has recently founded Hygienique, a cosmetic disposables distribution company located in the heart of Hampton Roads. She was made Executive Makeup Artist for the 2017 Virginia Full Figured Fashion Week Runway Show and was a featured makeup artist for the Christian stage play The Missionary of OZ (loosely based on the play, The WIZ), has become featured twice in blogs, and has numerous webcasts featuring other local MUA's. As she is continuing to grow her resume, she still finds time to volunteer her services for local charities for women empowerment. Melissa believes that there is splendor and beauty that dwells in every woman beyond what we see on the outward appearance. Her job is to only enhance God's beauty and majesty in women, not to recreate it.
Melissa is also a wife of twelve years, a mother of one, and a full-time teacher.
"You know how you feel when you finally made it home from a long, hard day. You kick off your shoes and kick back, feeling relaxed and calm? Well, makeup is just that to me. It's that feeling of finally being home." -Melissa
